Account deletion

Deleting your Halfcourt account

Two ways to do it. The first takes about ten seconds. Either way, here's exactly what happens to your data.

Fastest In the app

Profile → Settings → Delete account

Open the app, go to your profile, tap Settings, then Delete account. You'll be asked to confirm once. After that the account is gone and you're signed out.

  1. Profile tab, bottom right
  2. Settings, top right
  3. Delete account, at the bottom of the list
  4. Confirm
If you can't get in

Email us

Lost your phone, can't sign in, or already deleted the app? Email support@halfcourt.app from the address on the account with the subject Delete my account.

We'll confirm it's you, delete the account, and reply when it's done — within 30 days, usually the same week.

We don't ask why, and we won't try to talk you out of it.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and login
  • Email address, display name, handle, avatar
  • Profile details - position, height, years playing
  • Your RSVPs and check-ins
  • Push notification tokens
  • Your analytics identifier and event history
  • Games you created that haven't happened yet - the people in them are told the run is off

What stays, and why

  • Courts you added and photos of them. They're part of the map other players rely on, and they aren't personal data.
  • Messages in past game threads. Reattributed to "Deleted player" so the rest of the conversation still makes sense. Ask us and we'll strip them entirely.
  • Backups, for up to 30 days. Then they roll off on their own.
  • Crash reports, for 90 days. Not tied to your name or email.

It can't be undone

There's no recovery window and no archive to restore from. Signing up again later makes a brand new account.
