Who can use Halfcourt
You must be 13 or older. By creating an account or signing in, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Your account
Keep your sign-in to yourself and use one account. Your display name, handle and avatar must not impersonate someone else. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
What you post
Messages, photos, games and profile details you post stay yours. You let Halfcourt store and show them to other players inside the service, which is what the app is for. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except court photos, which stay with the court (see the privacy policy).
Zero tolerance: what isn't allowed
Halfcourt has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don't post or send:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or hate directed at anyone, including slurs.
- Sexual or sexually suggestive content, nudity, or graphic violence.
- Anything that sexualises or endangers a minor. This is reported to authorities.
- Spam, scams, advertising, or links to them.
- Someone else's private information, such as a phone number or home address.
- Photos that aren't yours to share, or that aren't of the court they're attached to.
- Anything illegal, or that encourages violence or self-harm.
We remove content that breaks these rules and suspend or delete accounts that break them, without warning for serious or repeated cases.
Reporting
If you see something that breaks these rules, report it in the app:
- A message: press and hold it in the game chat and choose Report message.
- A player: open their profile, tap ··· and choose Report player.
- A court photo: on the court, tap Report or edit court info.
Reports are private: the person you report isn't told who reported them. We review every report within 24 hours and remove the content and the offending user where it breaks these rules. You can also email support@halfcourt.app.
Blocking
You can block any player: open their profile and tap ···, or press and hold one of their messages. Once blocked, neither of you sees the other's messages, photos, profile or place on a game roster, and neither can invite the other to a game. They aren't told. You can unblock them in Settings → Blocked players.
Playing pickup
Halfcourt helps players find each other. It doesn't organise, supervise or insure games, and it doesn't check who anyone is. Games happen at public courts that Halfcourt doesn't own or maintain, and court details come from OpenStreetMap and from players, so they can be wrong. Use your own judgement about where you go, who you meet, and whether you're fit to play. You play at your own risk.
Leaving, or being removed
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.
No warranty
Halfcourt is a free app made by one person and is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Halfcourt and its developer aren't liable for anything that happens at a game, for other players' conduct or content, or for indirect or consequential losses from using the app.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, USA.
